Hey guys!

I was in Rome for a week, so not been here for quite a while.
Anyways, was a great week in a beautiful city.

I was there originally for the Roma - Juventus game on Saturday, but got there
the Monday before to make the most of the trip. I have a friend who lives there,
so I stayed with her and her b/f.

The game is not much to talk about ( lost 4-1 ), but we did get to go to the training centre of
AS Roma the following day, and had a meeting with one of the players ( John Arne Riise ),
so was great to see the inside of the training facilities.

I lived in Trastevere, which is a beautiful part of Rome, on the southwest side of the city.

The people in Rome are just great, and I loved how I was offered wine/beer for breakfast. ;P

I am seriously thinking of moving there in August. :)

Any other fans of the city here?

Welcome back mate, glad you had a great time!

Shame they lost at the Stadio Olimpico, that would have been the cherry on the top lol, or the "cherryo on the topo" lol  :P

Rome was great when I went many years ago. I did all the touristy things, Colosseum, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain etc, which was great. Remember having a nice drink by the fountain lol, with great weather.

I even bought an authentic bottle of Sambuca there, which you helped me to drink lol

Yeah, shame about the result, but just an excuse to get to a new game asap. ;)

I didn't do too many tourist stuff this time, seeing as I did most of them last time around.
I did see Colosseo a couple of times, though.. passing by. lol!
Trevi Fountain is beautiful, and I love all the buildings in the city. No matter where
you walk, you see beautiful buildings all around! :D

Btw, it's in Norwegian, but the biggest tv-station in Norway joined us for our meeting with John Arne Riise,
as well as before the match, and showed the clip on the sports news last Sunday. Here's the link:

I'm the one with the dark cap at the training centre, and the scottish-style hat outside the stadium.

E verò!

Yes, I went to Rome for the game, but when I first decided to go, I did spend a whole week in Rome,
so it was basically a nice, long vacation with the match at the end of it. And the trip to Trigoria on the Sunday to
meet with John Arne Riise.

Other then the game, I was spending most time drinking Italian wine, Montenegro, hanging out in Trastevere and
enjoying the Italian way of life. :)

Chè bella!!

I have been to Rimini, Riccione, Diano Marina and Venezia...

And, even though it's not in Italy, I have been to San Marino.

I would ask you to dedicate a prayer to the victims, displaced persons and to missing earthquake that occurred yesterday in L' Aquila... I hope with all my heart that the victims not increase...

Yes, those were terrible news. :(

My thoughts go out to those affected. I contacted the people I know in the area when I heard the news,
and luckily they ( and their families and friends ) were safe.

It's hard to read about all those people struggling, not only those who died and were injured,
but also those who are left without a home. :(
